Online Live Broadcast Celebrating 2021 519 World Family Doctor Day
First declared by WONCA in 2010, May 18 has since been known as the World Family Doctor Day. In 2021, Taiwan Association of Family Medicine celebrates this special day in sync with communities of family physicians worldwide.
”Building the Future with Family Doctors” is chosen as the theme of this year’s World Family Doctor Day to highlight the key roles of family physicians in strengthening health systems and delivering quality and affordable care to all in joint efforts with multidisciplinary colleagues, as well as to demonstrate their readiness in optimizing emerging technologies to assist the successful completion of their mission. The TAFM celebration this year, originally scheduled to be held at the Mayor’s Residence Art Salon in Taipei City, is reorganized into a roundtable symposium in the form of online live broadcast chaired by President Hwang and featuring honored guests including Professor Lee, Meng-Chih (President of WONCA Asia-Pacific Region), Dr. Tsai, Shih-Tzu (Chairman of TAFM WONCA and PR Committee and winner of the 2020 WONCA Asia-Pacific Five-Star Family Doctor Award), Dr. Sun, Wen-Jung (TAFM Secretary General), and Dr. Cheng, Shao-Yi and Dr. Yu, Yi-Chern (the leading actress and actor of the TAFM promotion video A Day in the Life of a Family Doctor Part III). A highlight of the symposium goes to the premiere of the video A Day in the Life of a Family Doctor (abridged version) to showcase not only to local but global viewers how family doctors embody their extraordinary dedication and contribution in their ordinary daily practice.
