TAFM Honorary President Professor Lee, Meng-Chih Attended the 70th Session of WHO-WPRO Committee
The 70th Session of WHO-WPRO Committee was held in the WPRO headquarters in Manila, Philippines from October 7~11, 2019. Privileged to attend the meeting, TAFM Honorary President Professor Lee, Meng-Chih successfully completed his mission of representative both WONCA and Taiwan under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and TAFM.
Also at the meeting was Ben PC Li, a medical student at National Cheng Kung University, representing IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Association) and delivering a much-applauded statement on the impacts of environmental change on global health. The 2019 meeting erected a milestone in its history by inviting all participants to join a daily round of reinvigorating calisthenics with health ministers from various countries taking turn to lead the exercise. The highly productive five-day meeting ended with a blessing ceremony praying for the health and wellbeing of all the countries and people in the Western Pacific Region. The Session of WHO-WPRO Committee next year will in held in Kobe, Japan.
Honored to have the opportunity of working with MOFA and its office in the Philippines to help expedite the remarkable performance of the Taiwanese delegation at the meeting, TAFM vows to continue collaborating with our fellow INGOs to keep Taiwan and the Asia Pacific Region shine with brilliance in the global arena.
