TAFM was greatly honored to have Dr. Anna Stavdal, President of WONCA, give a speech at its spring conference held on March 12 at the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. In the speech entitled “Developing Family Medicine: A Global Joint Venture,” Dr. Stavdal shared with TAFM members her insights on global healthcare and patient- and family-centered care models, accentuating the crucial roles of family physicians and primary care and inviting family physicians and all healthcare professionals in Taiwan to promote family physician system and provide citizens with better and more comprehensive health care.

　　During her stay in Taiwan, Dr. Stavdal also visited the Ministry of Health and Welfare and local medical institutions to better understand the system and practice of family medicine and primary care in Taiwan, for which she accorded highly positive recognition. It is our sincere hope that Dr. Stavdal will share her understanding of the strengths and achievements of Taiwan’s family medicine with the global community to help further the development of global primary care network for realizing the goal of “Family Doctors Always There to Care.”
